+ waxing prep & care

How to prepare for your brazilian wax appointment:

Let your hair grow 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. Hair needs to be 1/2" if hair is longer than 1/2" please trim. The longer the hair the more painful the wax can be. However if the hair is too short it will not be able to come out with the wax please make sure it's 1/2".
Lightly exfoliate the days leading up to your wax.
A hot shower and light exfoliation right before your appointment will help hair come out easier. (Exfoliate with either an exfoliating mitt/glove or Scrub Me Luscious (which you can buy from me in advance)
If you are prone to ingrown hairs I have many product options to help which you can purchase at your appointment.
No tanning of any kind 48 hours before your appointment.
If you have had a recent sunburn, you cannot be waxed until the burn is gone and you are done peeling.

Wax Aftercare:

Expect redness/tenderness
Do not shave between appointments
Cotton undergarments are best to allow the skin to breathe
Wait 48 hours before exfoliating, after that exfoliate 3 times a week (no loofah, they are full of bacteria). Use an exfoliating hand mitt, or purchase an aftercare scrub from me at your appointment.
Moisturize daily or every other day with a non pore clogging moisturizer. Fur oil (you can get at your appointment) leaves the skin feeling soft and hydrated.
For 24-48 hours:
No bathing
No hot tubs/pools/lakes/oceans
No tanning (sun, tanning bed or spray tan)
No intercourse
No touching/scratching
No heavy exercising (sweating)
Keep area clean and dry
Wear loose clothes to avoid friction
For tender or raw skin apply polysporin, aloe gel, hydrocortisone, or no trauma momma

+microneedling prep & care

How to prepare for your microneedling appointment:

If you have a history of viral infections such as herpes simplex or cold sores you may need to be prescribed an appropriate anti-viral medication prior to treatment. Microneedling could trigger a breakout.
No topical Retin- A products for 12 hours prior to treatment.
No aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory products for at least 10 days before the procedure.
No prolonged sun exposure or sunburns in the treatment area 24 hours before the procedure.
Skin should be clean and makeup free on the day of treatment.
Be sure it has been at least 2 weeks since receiving botox.
Be sure it has been at least 3 weeks since receiving filler.
If an active or extreme breakout occurs before treatment we may need to reschedule.

Aftercare for microneedling:

Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 7-10 days after treatment. Absolutely no tanning beds.
Apply a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB chemical-free sunscreen with SPF 30+ designed for post cosmetic procedures.
No vigorous exercising or strenuous activity for at least 48 hours post treatment.
Do not apply makeup on the same day of treatment.
Use lukewarm water to cleanse the treatment area thoroughly while gently massaging to remove debris. Carefully pat dry no rubbing.
Avoid use of steam baths, saunas, or swimming pools at least 48 hours following the treatment.
Avoid the use of sensitizing drugs, skincare products, or cosmetics that contain mineral oils. lanolin, petroleum, acids, or alcohol-based toners.
Only use post procedure skincare products prescribed by your esthetician to soothe, calm and protect the skin until it is fully recovered and ready for normal skincare.
No harsh exfoliants, or products containing AHA/BHA/s retinoids or acidic products for at least 14 days after treatment.
What to expect: Swelling and redness are normal immediately after the treatment. The treated area will appear similar to that of moderate to severely sunburned skin. Minor pain and/or discomfort of elevated warmth and tightness can be experienced. This will start to subside after 1 to 2 hours. Fast recovery is normally observed within the first 24 hours after the treatment with only slight redness remaining the following day.
The skin will feel tight and dry for the first 3 days post treatment.
Some skin might scab after 3 days post procedure. It should not be touched or picked on to avoid any infections and will fall off naturally.
Patients may return to their regular skincare products approximately 2 to 3 days after the treatment or as soon as it is comfortable to do so.

+lash prep and care:

how to prepare for your lash appointment:

Please come to your appointment free of any eye makeup. It is best not to wear any at all the day of your appointment, because of residue that is left behind from makeup remover and/or leftover mascara/makeup you aren’t able to fully remove. The lashes will stick to the mascara or oil buildup, and the lashes will not last. Face makeup is preferred to be removed as well. Before fills please cleanse your lashes twice, that way at your appointment the extensions have the best chance of adhering properly.

How to take care of your lashes:

Cleanse your lashes twice daily for best retention. Lash cleanser can be refilled at lash appointments and is always available. Brush your lashes with a lash spoolie given to you at your appointment. Avoid oil based products. Avoid sleeping on your face. Do not pick or pull your lashes. Avoid getting too close to heat, like ovens fires, pots of hot steam. Be sure to book your fills 2-3 weeks!

Heidi’s Lashes is absolutely five star. She’s extremely professional, her space is very clean, which is very important to me.
She’s always on time and is very much a perfectionist so your eyelashes always look great. I never have an issue with my lashes between appointments. Highly recommended.
